My First Cake Blog Post – “Help Me Rhonda”

Welcome to my first Cake Blog Post 🙂

Hi everyone!

You may not know me, but hopefully this blog will change that very soon. If you come back again, I promise to tell you more about myself in future posts. For today, we will start with this:

I have always felt that life is much better when sprinkled with fun, family, fun, friends, fun, love, fun, laughter… Are you sensing a theme here yet?!? If you guessed FUN, then we are on the same page! 🙂

THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH FUN!!! – Gingerbread House 10/2016

As you can see, I absolutely love to work on fun projects! I will be sharing some of the tricks I used to build that seriously awesome Up Balloon Gingerbread House, so be sure to stay tuned for my future cake blog posts.

Thank You!

In addition to having as much fun as you can squeeze into every day, I also believe that it is extremely important to show appreciation to others. You know what I’m talking about… maybe it’s your parents, spouse, family members, friends, someone you work (or play) with. This should really be a no-brainer, but I find that gratitude is sorely lacking in today’s world.

Since I have begun my caking journey (and now my cake blog journey – YIKES!), there have been many, many, MANY wonderful people who have propped me up, given me encouraging words, taught me techniques, and been willing to answer my questions. This unwavering support has been on my mind a great deal over the past week. So to my very own local mentor, Leslie Foster of The Cake Room, I would like to say Thank you! Your kindness, encouragement and willingness to put up with my craziness has not gone unnoticed. You totally rock!!!

To all the other people who have offered me encouragement, I say Thank you! To those who I follow online but have not yet had the opportunity to meet in person, I say Thank you! I would not be where I am today (in my very happy cake place) with you, so once again, I say Thank you!

Back to the FUN…

With all that gratitude and appreciation in mind, I begin this new journey of cake blogging with something FUN. I saw a comment on our Facebook group’s page today, and a tune popped into my head. Oh dear… the wheels in my head went round and round, nearly spinning out of control. I instantly knew what had to be done… Knowing my OCD-self as I do, I set everything aside and got right to it (otherwise I knew that tune would be in my head ALL DAY LONG!).

So without further ado, I would like to share a silly little song with my first cake blog post. I put this together to thank Kara Andretta (Kara’s Couture Cakes @ www.karascouturecakes.com) for inviting Rhonda Urbanczyk (Rhonda Bakes @ www.rhondabakes.com) to teach us website creation through ProCake University’s Cake Blogging Blueprint Program. Rhonda’s “DEEP DIVE into WordPress” gave me the tools (and motivational kick in the you-know-what) to create my website.

Enjoy the show…

I hope you will subscribe to my YouTube channel and come back to my blog, where I will be posting fun cake decorating tips and tutorials. I would love to show you why I love Making Memories with Custom Cakes.

  1. Wow……..somewhere in the universe we were meant to be sisters. You are amazing, your cakes are ‘scrumptulescent’ and it is probably safer for everyone that we live in two different states. Love you, love your creativity and positive energy. Can’t wait to spend more time together, making many more memories. Keep it up, I’m proud of you.

    xox,
Happy to be your sister, Debbie

    1. Awwww… Debbie, you are sooooo sweet!!! I totally agree that this was meant to be, and I am thrilled that we are sisters. ❤️️ Sure wish you were closer, but you know what they say… Absence makes the heart grow fonder! Hope to see you again soon. 🙂

      xoxo,
      Shannon ❤️️
